How does your film conform to the conventions of the film movement?
My Short Film is the story of a couple; their journey together through this tough time. Everything was fine, then they got the bad news, things got worse, he was left on his own didn't know what happened to her, he walks to her, ends on a good note but what will they do now. My film relates to the typical French New Wave, which generally has a political or realistic story line. In my evaluation i will discuss how my film conforms to the conventions of A French New Wave.
Audience:
My short film wasn't aimed at a specific target audience, as a French New Wave is either political or realism so the audience can vary depending on what is being shown. However I feel as if my short film will appeal to more people who have gone through this situation. The difference between an audience and a spectator, is that an audience is the reaction of a collective group of people; whereas spectator-ship is the reaction of an individual.
Genre:
I believe that my short film can be easily recognised as a Realism, as it tells the story of a couple going through cancer which a lot of people do go through. This short film shows the realism through the journey to the hospital the struggle the woman has keeping up, also when the man is having to walk the dog alone because of what the woman is going trough which is very realistic due to her having cancer.Narrative:
As French New Wave has a political or realistic story line there weren't any short films that i could compare mine to.
